# Description: Great original print from the mid 20th century signed on upper right corner. I believe it is a woodblock, but I'm not certain of the print method. The signature looks like "Yabuchi" but I can't tell for sure. It is dated on the bottom 1965 and titled in Japanese "Yuzu and Persimmon". Yuzi and Persimmons limited edition, hand signed Artist Toru Mabuchi 1920-1994
Description "Yuzu to Kaki". Persimmons, citrus and still life. Toru Mabuchi was a fine technician and could do elaborate printing using thirty to fifty printing stages. He did not want to use only the traditional method. Since he had been interested in the Byzantine mosaics and the pointillist paintings of Seurat, he developed a printing technique by using small pieces of wood pasted on print blocks like mosaic stones. Signature "Toru Mabuchi" hand signed in white pencil on the top right. Dated 1965. Medium/Technique Woodblock print. Impression Carved and printed by the artist. Colors Excellent - Very good. Condition Very good ... Slight foxing on the upper margin. Two tears, about 1cm = 0.39 inches, on the bottom edge.
