Notes (1st edition)Artist: Tomoyo Jimbo Format: Dai-oban tate-e: 16.75" x 11.25" Subject: A rare Shin Hanga bijin study by the contemporary of Shinsui, Tomoyo Jimbo who was a female artist known by only a handful of designs. This fine example shows a young bijin with open umbrella walking beneath Japanese Maples (Acer palmatum). Numbered on verso from the limited edition of 300 (perhaps 200) copies. Note from Ross: I've seen the edition size quoted as being 100 or 200. The edition size is printed on the verso but it is very hard to see in the image I have. After some simple image processing it would appear the edition size is probably 300 (definitely not 100).
