Format: Dai-oban tate-e: 16.75" x 11.25"
Subject: A rare Shin Hanga bijin study by the contemporary of Shinsui, Tomoyo Jimbo who was a female artist known by only a handful of designs. This fine example shows a young bijin with open umbrella walking beneath Japanese Maples (Acer palmatum). Numbered on verso from the limited edition of 300 (perhaps 200) copies.

I've seen the edition size quoted as being 100 or 200. The edition size is printed on the verso but it is very hard to see in the image I have. After some simple image processing it would appear the edition size is probably 300 (definitely not 100). |
