Notes (1st edition)Title Hara - Tokaido Meisho Hizakurige Artist Tamenobu Fujikawa(?) active 19./20. C. Seal artist's seal (tamenobu) Dated 1890. Description "Tokaido Meisho Hiza Kurige" (Famous Places of Tokaido; Shanks Mare) Station Hara. This series depicts the scenes from the popular novel, "Tokaido-chu Hiza Kurige" (Shanks Mare) by Jippensha Ikku. The mis-adventures by the funny travellers, Mr.Yaji and Mr. Kita who single-handedly demolished all the inns along the Tokaido but not even arrested. They are the two guys on the lower middle in this picture. Width 14.2 inches = 36.0 cm Height 9.6 inches = 24.5 cm
