The piece is sold matted and unframed. (Photos show piece both in and out of matte.) Kawanos chop signature, approx. Ύ square in red ink, appears in the margin on the lower right side of the paper. Image is in very good condition and measures approx. 4-1/4 wide by approx. 5-7/8 high. Paper is in very good condition with one old glue speck in middle of the right margin and 1-1/4 strip of clear tape in middle of the bottom margin hidden by the matte and measures approx. 6-3/4 wide by 8-3/4 high. Matte measures 8 wide by 10 high. |

This charming woodblock print by Kaoru Kawano is a profile of a pretty young girl in profile, with jet black hair, a floral headband of daisy like flowers in her hair, against a brown background. It is signed in pencil, "Kaoru Kawano, and has a chop mark in red, lower right. The woodblock measures 11 3/8" x 8 1/4, has full margins, in good condition. En verso is stamped "MADE IN JAPAN". The right vertical margin is deckle edged. |
In good condition, this tiny 4 x 6 wood block of a young girl is just lovely. Frame size is 8 x 10. Artist stamp. |
