Akashi from Lady Murasaki's "The Tale of Genji". Original woodblock print by Masao Ebihara circa 1950ish. 8.8 x 12.7 inches. Good ink bleed through. Nice mica. Artist's seal in lower right of image. Very good condition. Print still tipped inside of original presentation folder.

Description "The Tale of Genji" Chapter 13, Akashi. Lady Akashi no Ue is playing koto just before her parting with Genji. This print is still in the original folio. The chapter summary is printed in English and Japanese on a tissue overlay.
