KAWANO Kaoru (1916-1965). Love birds, yokoban (6" x 4½"). Signed in pencil below image; Kawano red seal in LR margin; mica coating. Condition: good; slight toning and a few crinkles; very large margins with right & bottom deckle edges (overall size: 11" x 8¼").
Sweet little print, has red chopmark further down in the right corner margin.....paper size 8+" x 11", image size aaprox 4 3/8" x 6". there is a little faint foxing in the margins, and some light "finger-bend" creases and slightly curving (non-flat) of margin....may have had tape along some edges...but the image is in fine shape.

This charming woodblock print by Kaoru Kawano is a profile of a red bird nuzzling a white bird. The background, with a suggestion of red branches, is a dark brown color. It is signed in pencil, "Kaoru Kawano, and has a chop mark in red, lower right. The woodblock measures 11 3/8" x 8 1/4, has full margins, in good condition. En verso is stamped "MADE IN JAPAN". The right vertical margin is deckle edged.
