Title:"Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Snow"
Format : Oban - Size : 16 in. x 10 1/4" in. - Signed with black seals. Impression is Good with good Colours. Condition is Good with the exception of slight toning throughout.

This print is a Japanese Wood Block / Woodblock print by the artist Nisaburo Ito. The title is "Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Snow". It is from the Uchida Art Company in Japan -- a company that is seeking to preserve the traditional techniques of Japanese Woodblock printing. The print is professionally framed and there is a a paper glued to the back that gives a detail description of Japanese Woodblock Printing and the Uchida company's efforts to preserve it. The print measures about 15 1/2" X 21" in the frame. It is signed in the print.

Description The very rare original hand painting of Muro-ji temple and a trial proof with annotations by the artist. They indicate some places of the tree should be darker, etc.
The exceptional and rare items for the serious Japanese woodblock print collector, who wants the fine example of the creative process of commercial print production.
Note Uchida Han is an important Japanese publishing company with branches in both Tokyo and Kyoto. Founded in 1919, the company is still in existence today as an active publisher of shin-hanga in addition to publishing re-strikes of Edo period ukiyo-e prints.
