A fabulous woodblock by the listed artist Bakufu Ohno. The colors are exceptional and more vivid than show in the pictures. It is signed with a seal as shown in the pictures. Paper size is approximately 16 3/8 inches by 11 1/2 inches. There is some creasing from storage in the original folder. Also some foxing ? As seen in the pictures from being stored in the original folder.

You are bidding on a vintage Japanese woodblock print of Ohno Bakufu that was found in my father’s house when I cleaned it out. He was in Japan in the 1940s and 1960s. The frame size is 18” x 23 1/4”and the print itself is at least 10 1/8” x 15”, from what I can see by the size of the window of the mat. The artist’s signature and stamp is on the lower left corner. This print is in excellent condition.

From the estate of George Garrelts, Senior Chief Hospital Corpman who was in Japan right after WWII. One Japanese woodblock print which is still in original folder. This print from Ono Bakufu artist (1888-1976). Tip mounted on left side of the folder. Not backed and no laid down, only few transfer colors on right margin. Overall in excellent condition. Great impression. Size 11.5" x 16.25". No reserve.

This auction is for a Japanese woodblock print by Bakufu Ohno (1888-1976). This is an original with some hand-painted embellishments on the dark blue flowers above his signature. On some of the original prints done by the artist himself he would do some hand-painted embellishments on the botanical woodblocks. This print was published by Kyoto Hanga-in 1950 as the seal says in the bottom margin. It is 16 x 11 inches in size and in nice condition with no problems.

Ikebana by Bakufu Ohno. Original woodblock print. Very good condition. Oban size measures 16.4 x 11.6 inches. Kyoto Hanga-in publisher's seal and Nakae printer's seal in left margin. Artist's red seal and Shinagawa seal in lower left of image. "Printed by Kyoto Hanga-in 1951 seal in bottom margin. Nice detail and texture. Strong ink bleedthrough. Some black lacquer printing around flower stand.
