Version 2 was printed from 1950 and has a grey background. Somewhat surprisingly, it can also carry a "first edition" seal in Japanese (referring to this colour variant I guess).

Notes (this edition)? The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Often written by non-experts, there may be inaccuracies:

Bakufu, Ohno- Bird and cherry blossoms- 1.jpg is:

Bird with cherry blossoms woodblock print by Ono Bakufu. Size is 15 1/2 X 11 inches. Signed Bakufu and B. Ohno with red Bakufu and Shingawa seals. Also sealed in left margin with printed in 1952, Kyoto Hanga-in seal, and a third seal (I think it's the carver). Published at Kyoto Hanga-in in 1952 by Shinagawa. Overall excellent condition, has some mounting residue on upper and lower left corner margin on reverse. Does not affect image. The lines visible in the reverse photo are part of the watermark of the paper. They are invisible when the print is viewed from the front. This 1st picture doesn't do this print justice, the blossoms are stunning!

Artist Bio: Bakufu Ohno (1888-1976) was born in Tokyo. He moved to Kansai after the great Kantou earthquake in 1923. Ohno exhibited oil paintings at Teiten in 1929. He was an honorary member of the Hyogo Prefecture Academy of Fine Arts, and a member of Taiheiyogakai. Ohno produced many landscape and fish prints, including the Great Japanese Fish Picture Collection (Dai Nihon gyorui gashu) in 1940, which was published by Kyoto Hanga-in; blocks were carved by Matsuda and Kikuda, printed by Shinagawa, Nagae, Uchida and Ohno.
