A very nice watercolor by Listed Japanese Artist Banka Maruyama, One of Japans most important watercolor artist during the Meiji Period . His work stays in Private collections and does not come on the market often. He was born in Nagano , Japan , and began studing with Kodama Katei. The image size is 12 " by 19" and signed on the lower right side , B.Maruyama 1903. You can find him listed in some of the biggest auction houses . He specializes in Landscape scenes and this one is lovely with beautiful white flowers . In 1907 he and a artist friend oshita Tojiro founded the , Japan Institute of Japanese Watercolor Painting. He became a very active painter , much of his work is also in great museums.
