Artist: Odake Kokkan (1880--1945)
Format: Kuchi-e( approx: 31cmx21,5cm),
Conditions: Fine colors and impression . Light toning and slight soiling, as is common in these Kuchi-e pieces. The print is folded vertically (now flattened) as are all kuchi-e prints (because of their use), so this is not a negative. The print is exactly as the pictures.So please, look attentively the picture. Thank you.
Subject:
The work is a Kuchi-e print by Odake Kokkan. He was an important woodblock printmaker of the Meiji and Taisho Period. Kuchie are frontpieces produced for publication in Japanese novels and literary magazines at the turn-of-the-century (1895-1915). This print represents a mother arranging the haire of her daughter.

We certify that the print is an original Japanese woodblock print by Odake Kokkan.
