Sanuki Okushima (讃岐屋島), from the series Views of the Seto Inland sea (瀬戸内海風景版画集).
Paper size: 31.2 x 22.2 cm., self-printed in 1937.

Fine impression, colours and condition: exceptionally well-printed: use of gofun ánd blind-printing.

Artist Bio: 
Shigetoshi was born on a remote island off the coast of Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture. He moved to Tokyo, started making prints in about 1921 and later joined the Kitsutsuki-kai group led by Hiratsuka Un'ichi. He moved back home in about 1943 and thereafter worked on his own independent of any art group in Tokyo. He contributed to the series "100 Views of New Japan" from 1940, and also a series on the Seto Inland Sea around 1937.
