This print first appears in the September 1959 edition of the Kyoto Hanga-In catalogue. Rumours that it was published in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics are incorrect.

Artist Bio: 
Apart from the fact that he was a pupil of Kawabata Ryûshi (1885-1966), not much is known about Anzai Keimei. He is known to have made a limited number of prints for Kyoto Hanga-in and wrote several books on art. His birthdate was either 1905 or 1906.
日本画家。東京生。名は正男。川端龍子に師事する。再興院展に入選するが、龍子が青龍社を結成するに及びこれに参加、社人となる。また龍子の画塾御形塾の塾頭をつとめ、自らは青明会を主宰した。全国の建築や東京をテーマに連作を発表した。日本美術家連盟理事。平成11年(1999)歿、93才。
