Note that there may be some inaccuracies: Interesting Modern Japanese color woodblock print of a pipe, fish, pear, mug and other unusual objects by listed Japanese printmaker Toyohisa Inoue (1914-1998). Inoue, a member of the Sosaku Hanga print movement, studied at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto. He exhibited as early as 1933 with the Kyoto Sosaku Hangakai and exhibited in Paris and the U.S. later in the 1930s. Inoue was the founder of the Kyoto Print Society in 1951. Inoue's still life prints are fairly rare and this print, though small, is an excellent example of his Sosaku Hanga style. This print is signed lower right and numbered 7/30. It is dated 1971 lower center. It measures 2 5/8" x 5 1/8" (image size). It bears a label from the Hanga Gallery on the back of the frame.
