Notes (first edition)?
Ross: I am not convinced that this artist is Goto Sumio. Sumio's style is quite different, and these watercolours appear to be much older than 1950's+. Based on some frames I've seen I'd say 1920s.

Hello,
Several days ago I was changing some pictures around in the house and noticed the name “Goto” on a particular painting, so I googled the name and saw your website with a picture titled, Boats on shore near Fuji. The style and technique of the painting I have looks very much like the one you have pictured. It is painted on paper. The signatures also appear to be the same (see attached pictures). I know very little about art but would appreciate your opinion as to if my picture might be a Sumio Goto watercolor painting. Also, I would appreciate any other information you might be able to tell me about the painting , such as, possibility when it was painted and if it has any other then minimal value.

Thank You
