	Artist Bio:	明治34年(1901)～昭和58年(1983) 新潟県三島郡与板町生まれ。本名信郎。 はじめは超世。 京都市立美術工芸学校を経て， 大正13年(1924)同絵画専門学校を卒業。 堂本印象に師事し，画塾東丘社に入る。 後に印象の妹ミツ（径子）と結婚。 昭和2年(1927)第8回帝展で｢東山｣が初入選。 同6年(1931)第12回展で｢春丘｣が特選となる。 昭和7年(1932)晁勢に改める。 同9年(1934)第15回展で｢舟造る砂丘｣が特選となった。 新聞などの小説挿絵にも才能を示している。 昭和37年(1962)｢朱柱｣により日本芸術院賞を受けた。 昭和50年(1975)印象歿後は東丘社を主宰。 昭和54年(1979)日本芸術院会員となった。 昭和58年（1983）歿、82才。 印象の影響を受け、色彩豊かで明るい抒情に溢れる。 息子に日本画家の三輪晁久がある。 日展審査員。
