Notes (first edition)?
Note: This artist is not Yoshida Hiroshi.

ITEM: Japanese landscape painting with a lantern in the foreground and in the background fishermen departing the harbor at dawn or first light.
MEDIUM: Water color on art board.
SIZE: This painting is framed under glass as we first found it. The frame is a nondescript black painted faux bamboo frame of the type often found on Asian items framed in the first half of the 20th century. The frame was sealed when we first acquired the painting and there is an old art deco framing label on the back. The painting has been in the frame for quite some time which probably accounts for its’ good condition. Overall framed dimensions are 10 5/8” x 14 1/2”. The actual painting measures approximately 10” x 13 3/4”. (We wish to stress here that the item is a painting and not a print.).

Artist Bio:
The artist Hiroshi painted the more popular scenes of Japan for the tourist market (i.e., Mt Fuji, cherry trees in spring, winter snow, autumn, temple torii gates and lanterns, ocean boats, etc.). He always singed his paintings 'Hiroshi', underlined. This is not the artist Hiroshi Yoshida, who usually painted more rustic scenes and signed his paintings 'H Yoshida'.
