Lake Towada by Endo Kyozo. Original Japanese woodblock print circa Showa 3 (1928). Very good condition. Toned washi. Fine color and impression. Good ink bleedthrough on soft washi Nice baren rubbings on verso. Artist's red seal in lower right of image. Shin Yamatoe Mokuhanga Kankokai pubisher's seal, artist's characters, title and Yamagishi Kazue carver's seal on verso. 11.2 x 15.7 inches. |

遠藤 教三（えんどう きょうぞう）
明治30年<1897>－昭和45年<1970> 東京都出身
大正－昭和期の日本画家。
松岡映丘に師事し、1921年に新興大和絵会の創立に参加。
同会解散後は帝展、新文展に出品し、1938年に狩野光雄らと翔鳥会を結成。
戦後は個展を中心に作品を発表しました。
東京美術学校卒。 |
