Pillar Print: Bijin on an Egawa

Artist: Eisho
Format: Hashira-e: 24.75" x 4.75" approx

Subject: An elegant young bijin on the engawa of a house overloking the Sumida River and the torii of the Mimeguri Shrine. Considered to be Eisho's finest design in the pillar print format.

Date: 1795

Condition: Full size. Laid down. Two horizontal folds. Paper toned. Paper fractures and damages (repaired), notably above the head of the girl. Generally fair state for an 18th century print.
