This nice little print is from a calendar by Chiku Ho Do, the woodblock printing centre in Yokohama, Japan. Chiku Ho Do specializes in Japanese woodblock printing, and has been trusted by, and printed for many great modern artists such as Umetaro Azechi and Fukio Kitaoka from their original woodblocks for over 50 years.

Every year, Chiku Ho Do publishes this extremely popular calendar with twelve genuine woodblock prints. For those calendars, each month is carefully hand-printed from the ORIGINAL woodblocks in collaboration with the artists themselves. Since each piece is hand-printed, the number of calendars/prints is limited, and are very hard to obtain.

This lovely piece here is by Shuzo Ikeda, featuring a girl with birds. It was originally a part of those calendars (the year of the calendar unknown).
