Impression excellent … printed on a thick laid paper, "Nishisawa" embossed on the right lower margin.
Colors excellent … solid gold colored metallic pigment on the background
Condition excellent - very good … pencil markings on the right corners.

Description "Oshun" from the Bunraku puppet play,"Chikagoro Kawara no Aibiki". Shizuo Nishisawa was famous for his exquisite and highly skilled colored-etching works especially the ones depicting Bunraku puppets. In 1983, the Nobel Prize Foundation in Sweden asked Nishizawa to make a print in commemoration of the first Japanese Nobel laureat for literature, Kawabata Yasunari.
