Very nice Japanese wood-block print of` a foundry scene of workers gathered around what looks like a giant forge with a huge piece of red hot steel. The label found behind the print reads "Goto Wood-Block Prints Inside of Marutake Arcade Store " and then an address for Nagoya Japan. The are some japanese words on the bottom right and top right corners that are part of the print and there are some words written in pencil along the bottom right border. Some one told me the artist might be a matsua or matsui or something like that. Print measures 15"X11 1/2" and is mounted on a slightly larger piece of paper. Condition is Very good as you can see. Paper has turned light brown due to age but this hasn't affected the overall appeal of the image. |
