TOBEI KAMEI (1901-1977) "Ten Lovely Sights In Kyoto" - a box of 10 vintage woodblock prints by Kamei. All prints depict scenes around Kyoto,Japan. The prints each measure 5.75" by 3.75" and are tipped to card stock with a description of the scene in English. Very Good Condition.

Kamei Tobei studied at Kyoto Kaiga Semmon Gakko. He was a founding member of the Kyoto Sosaku Hanga Kyokai. With Tomikichiro Tokuriki and Kotozuka Eiichi he established his own publishing company to support the selling of Sosaku Hanga prints. In 1953 Kamei followed an old Japanese artist tradition and changed his name - to Genbei Kamei.
