Beautiful original woodblock print by well known contemporary Japanese artist Kaoru Kawano (1916-1965). Image size is 14 3/4 x 9 3/8 inches. This piece is in great condition and is professionally matted and framed to a size of 17 x 11 1/4 inches. The print has been freed of all tape which was used to keep it in place in the frame, though there is tape residue around edges of backside.

Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
