Subject: A Noble lady escaping with her children in the depth of winter pauses to warm one of the children, while the other looks back at the village.

Publisher: Yokoyama Ryohachi

Date: 1890

Condition: Fine colors with rich oxidation of the orange pigment. Full size. Japanese album backing paper. Light overall soiling and offsetting. An album crease along left edge to right and middle sheet. Minor marks and flaws. Generally good state of preservation.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage.

Artist Bio: 

楊斎延一 。 (ようさい のぶかず、 明治5年(1872年) - 昭和19年(1944年))は、明治時代の浮世絵師。 来歴楊洲周延の 門人。姓は渡辺、後に島田、名は次郎。
