Uegamatsu, from the series "Sixty-nine Stations of the Kisokaido", by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858)

Bridges are strange things, and it always seems that when you first cross a bridge, you end up stopping and staring down into the river below. Even from the smallest of bridges, it seems that some visual world unlike your normal world has opened up before your eyes. As here, where the bridge affords a view of the waterfall.
