The artworks displayed on JAODB are not for sale

Notes (1st edition)This appears to be a kuchi-e print for the novel entitled "Chushingura" (The 47 Loyal Retainers). Two sources date this print to 1915, however, a novel by Kikuchi Kan (1888-1948) with the same title and also containing a kuchi-e print by Tekisui was published in 1928 via the publisher Bungei Shunju (perhaps this dating is for a later edition?). Unfortunately this print is often mis-attributed to Ito Shinsui.
