Title: Court Ladies in Tokugawa Era - Tokugawa Jidai Kifujin no Zu - Going to Bed Artist: Chikanobu Toyohara 1838-1912 Description: "Tokugawa Jidai Kifujin no Zu" ("Court Ladies in Tokugawa Era"). The aristocratic lady is going to bed. Her assistant is helping her. A floor lantern next to a room divider is casting light on the lady. Stunning composition. Signature "Yoshu Chikanobu". Dated: Ca. 1890s. Medium/Technique: Woodblock print.
