This is a genuine original shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) titled "Nakabeshima", dated Showa 5 (1930), titled in English & kanji, and pencil signed by the artist. This is a genuine pencil signed period piece and not a posthumous restrike . Yoshida does an excellent job on the clipper ship. Excellent attention to detail on this print.
The print is in good condition and has Yoshida's brown jizuri seal (translation "self-printed" or "printed by myself"). Fine impression, very good color and registration. No toning, folds or creases. The print is not setdown or trimmed. There is some barely preceptable discoloration along the right and left portion of the print where the color contacts the margin. There are also 3 very faint specks of foxing in the sky portion of the print. Image size is 9.75" x 14.75", paper size is 11" x 16".
