"Bakushu Hi" (Beer Queen). A bit tipsy German lady in traditional attire is holding a large beer glass. You can see lots of them plus others in the same condition in the world renowned drinking festival, Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. The print is produced without the black key block lines to imitate oil painting. Slightly embossed to show the brush strokes. Very interesting demonstration of the woodblock printing technique, which can reproduce the characters of other media. Carver Endo. Printer Ito Tomo. |
