Description
"Ryofu" (Cool Breeze). A beauty in light summer kimono. She is holding a blue "uchiwa" fan, and sitting on a rattan chair next to a bamboo window screen. She seems contemplating something in the cool breeze in a summer evening.
A rarely seen portrait of a modern beauty by Mokurei. Her fashionable, western style coiffure is expertly expressed in the crisp lines and fine gradations. |

大正 8年 山形県真室川町に生れる。
昭和10年 東京美術学校版画部講師片岡美登氏に師事。
田辺至氏に洋画を学ぶ。
昭和30年 日本伝統版画製作技術（木版彫刻）東京都より
無形文化財に指定される。
昭和37年 日府春季展奨励賞受賞。委員推挙される。
雅号「木身」を「木鈴」に改名。
昭和39年 社団法人日本画府（日府展）常任理事に推挙される。
昭和54年 旧制第五高等学校「赤レンガ」完成。同年他界。
昭和56年 真室川町立民俗資料館に木鈴作品他陳列保存。
中川木鈴追想展（ギャラリー・アネックス）
昭和60年 真室川町・版画展に木鈴賞設定。 |
