Vintage woodblock print published probably in the middle 20th century by Baba Nobuhiko.


Title: Miyajima in Aki

Sheet size: 14.5×9.5 cm


Condition: Appropriate for age or a little better.
Pasted on the mount at the left edge.

Sold among a number of other postcard prints on similar card stock, most carrying the Baba Nobuhiko publisher seal.

Artist Bio: 
Iwajiro Tanaka was born in Kanda, Tokyo. He used the art name "Risei" during and after W.W.II. He lived in Hamashima in Mie prefecture during W.W.II. He was one of few western style painters, whose works recorded the scenes of Tokyo area before and after W.W.II with the names of the towns and places.
1910 : His works are shown at the Hakuba-kai exhibition.
1919: Teiten Exhibition. After he moved to Ibaraki prefecture, he participated in associations such as Hakujitsu-kai, Kofu-kai. He didn't belong to any art association after 1925. (Info. from Inoha Gallery).
