| Notes (first edition)?: |
| Japanese pre-war impressionist watercolor painting by artist K. Seki depicts a peddler walking a path near a stream in autumn with a rosy evening glow behind the mountains in the background. This double oban size (20” by 13 3/8”) painting on artist paper has the brush painted red seal and signature of the artist in the lower left corner of the image. Undated, this painting was probably produced in the 1920s or 1930s. The verso side of the paper shows tape and tape adhesive residue along all four edges where it the painting was attached to a mat board. Except for some minor edge wear and a small 1/2" by 1/2" piece which came loose from the lower left corner and will be reattached with backing acid-free artist paper, this painting otherwise has no toning, foxing or damage, such as any tears, creases, folds or repairs. See photos for more information about the condition of this print. |
