Kawase HASUI 1883-1957. Woodblock print. SARUSAWA POND, NARA from series "Twelve Scenes of Famous Places". 1930s, date of this print is not known to me. Publisher Kato. This print or impression is variant to or different to available references or images of same. Notably this impression has3 (three) light reflections in the pond as opposed to 2 (two), limbs in foreground are a bit different, Hasui's signature and seal placement is farther right and sheet or margin size is much large. More research or expertise needed. Impression very good, colors good with subtle shading, overall state very good. See above for more information on condition and examine pictures. Image shikishi, 23.8 x 23.9 cm (9.4 x 9.4 inches), sheet size 35.4 x 40 cm (13.9 x 15.7 inches).

“soft folds, creasing throughout to thin line hosho washi paper, margin tear top middle, otherwise very good condition overall, see photos.”
