| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | Description "Bijutsu Sekai" (The World of Art) Vol.8. Picture album series compiled by Seitei WATANABE introducing the works of well known artists of Meiji era. The series included also the designs by Edo old masters such as Utamaro, Okyo, Buson. These designs were transferred to woodblock prints mostly from paintings. 34 pages, of which 4 single page, 9 double page and one triple page pictures by Shonen, Masanobu, Goshun, etc.. Signature Bairei, Eitaku, Masanobu, Shotei and others. Seal Artist's seals. Dated This series of 25 volumes was published during 1890-94. This one in 1891. Publisher Shunyodo. Medium/Technique Woodblock print. Impression Excellent - very good ... printed on Japanese papers in double construction, another paper inserted in the middle of each fold. Colors Excellent - very good. Condition Very good ... light paper toning, slightly soiled, metallic transfer stains on 3 pages, binding intact.
