DESCRIPTION: Offered unreserved is a stunning color woodblock print by Japanese master KAWASE HASUI (1883-1957) that is titled “Isohama.” It is also known as “Ibaraki ken” and “Iso Beach, Ibaraki Prefecture.”. It is signed and sealed and has a 7mm Watanabe seal, lower left. I believe my photos show all of the seals well.

The print is not framed nor matted (I don’t think it was ever matted). The print was created in 1949 according to records I find online.

This is one of 2 Hasui prints I am listing today. Buy both and pay just one shipping charge.

DIMENSIONS: Image is 14 1/2 x 9 1/2” and sheet is 15 3/8 x 10 3/8.”

CONDITION: Really wonderful colors and impression. It appears unfaded. There is a tiny “rust” spot at the lower right corner of the sheet. The photo of the signature actually makes it look darker than it is. I just noticed there is a thin line in the clouds to the left of the roof overhang (it shows up in the close up of the clouds). I’m not sure if this is stray pigment or ?? It is not that noticeable.
