Note:
Kawase Hasui travelled for Korea during June 1 through July 4, 1939 together with Yamakawa Shuhou (????)by Korean Railway Bureau's invitation. Just after his travel, Hasui started to make his woodblock prints of "Korean Eight Views Series" under the copy right of Osaka Kansai Bijutsusha (???????)which founder was Naitou Seifuu(????), Actually speaking, those woodblock prints were carved and printed by Watanabe Shozaburo's workshop. And al woodblocks and those copy rights were transferred to Watanabe Shozaburo on April 15, 1940 for 440 yen. In May 1940, they held an exhibition of Hasui prints in Seoul where Hasui himself attended.
As far as I remember, several prints of Korean Views series held both Watanabe Shozaburo's publisher seal and Osaka Kansai Bijutsusha 's publisher seal, which suggested that unsold prints were transferred to Watanabe. From my personal standpoints, those prints quality seemed to be normal and less attractive.

Tosh
