MID CENTURY JAPAN UKIYO-E WOODBLOCK "FUJI FROM TEA FARM" BY ITO TAKASHI 1952

This Japanese woodblock print comes from an important Hawaii estate that has had many significant antiques and artwork stored for over 25 years! This is the first time this piece has even seen the light in all this time!

Titled "Fuji From Tea Garden" was done circa mid century by Shin Hanga artist Ito Takashi. This is a gorgeous modern sweeping view of Japan's most famous landmark.

This work comes in the condition as shown.

Beautiful original woodblock print by noted shin hanga printmaker Ito Takashi. Dates from 1952, and bears the correct circular 6mm seal indicating a true first edition. Signed and sealed with the artist's red seal lower right in the image. Measures about 9.5 x 14.5" image size, plus margins. The print is in very nice condition, I would say. The color and impression excellent. There is a very small amount of faint creasing in the margin which barely goes into the image in the lower left corner, but it is quite minimal. I have never seen this print for sale before; certainly it is not one of the more common Ito images.
