Artist: Takeji Asano (Japanese, 1900-1999)

Medium: Color woodblock prints

Series: Eight Noted Places of Kyoto. There are two prints for each season.

Titles:

(Spring) Arashiyama

(Summer) Daimonji Bonfire

(Autumn) Takao

(Winter) Kamiyama Shrine

(Spring) Kiyomizu Temple

(Summer) Byodoin

(Autumn) Tokufuji Temple

(Winter) Toji Temple

Date: probably 1950s (?)

Publisher: Unsodo

Size: Koban sheet sizes, each approx. 5 1/2" h. x 7 1/2" w., matted to approx. 6 7/8" h. x 9" w. Overall portfolio dimensions: approx. 7" h. x 9 1/4" w.

Overall Condition: Fresh colors. Some toning and scattered foxing, more noticeable on some prints than others (see below). Each print top tipped to original cardstock backing with simple paper overleaf "mat" (cardstock and mats "as is"). Portfolio "as is" with scattered stains. Spine intact.
