Japanese woodblock print, by noted 20th century printmaker Shuzo Ikeda. Very nice condition; never framed or mounted in any way. Beautiful design, very much a seventies' image. Brush signed, numbered and dated in pencil. Thursday, 29 November 2007

Original woodblock print by listed artist Ikeda Shuzo (born 1922). Image of a boy charming a bird with flute music. Pencil signed lower right and Japanese character lower center. Numbered 51/100 and dated 1970 in pencil. Image size 10 1/2" x 15" on a sheet 12 1/2" x 18" which is in good condition. Very slight surface paper loss on reverse from tape removal which goes no where near image area. Most tape strips extended 1/4" to 3/8" into paper. Piece removed from frame which we do not wish to save. Old matt had slight water stain which did not reach print. Charming scene similar to Saito or Kawano.
