A Good Japanese Woodblock Print by Shotei. 1920's

10 3/16 x 4 3/8 ins. (25.8 x 11.1 cms) This design does not feature in the catalogue of Shotei's work on the excellent website "shotei.com". Shotei was also known a Takahashi Hiroaki (1871-1944) and was a very prolific and popular artist, especially in the 1920's and 30's. The print is in excellent unfaded condition except for a 2 or 3 faint creases on the left hand side. There is an original shop numbering label on the

An extremely rare copy of a beautiful pre-earthquake print by the shin hanga master Shotei (1871-1945). Published by Watanabe. Dated approximately 1910, Shotei seal. Small print (4-7/8 x 10-1/8 inches) with very narrow margins on the top and left and trimmed margins on the right and bottom.
