Friday, 15 September 2006 Japanese woodblock print, sosaku hanga, Shuzo Ikeda. This is one of the best prints ever by noted sosaku hanga printmaker Shuzo Ikeda. Very Saito-esque, the print depicts a Mona Lisa-ish woman with an equally enigmatic expression. The print is quite large, about 18 x 12 plus margins. Brush signed in white ink in the image; numbered 13/50, dated 1961. Excellent condition; appears never to have been framed.
