Notes (1st edition)Title Girl in the Early Spring rare: kuchi-e Artist Shiun Kondo active in 1910-30s Signature Shiun. Dated Ca. 1910s. Publisher Bungei Kurabu. Medium/Technique Woodblock print. Description From Bungei Kurabu novel, "Saotome" in vol.20, No.8. A young farm worker is covering her hair with a cloth. A flock of swallows are flying by. This print was the only design Shiun had made for kuchi-e publication. Although he made numerous woodblock prints depicting the aftermath of the Kanto Earthquake in 1923, but nothing was known about this enigmatic artist.
