Japanese Wood Block Print Carp Fish 1949 First Printing. A beautiful Japanese wood block print, the subject a pair of carp under a blossoming tree with falling petals, subtle ripple on the water which is accented with a silvery metallic ground, wonderful detail. Signed by the artist and with a publishers seal, also under the matt signed with further Japanese characters and printed “FIRST - PRINTING 1949” The actual print measures 16 ½ x 11 ¼ inches. Matt 19 x 13 ¾ inches. The print is adhered to the matt with tape
