Kuchi-e: Bijin in the Snow

Artist: Tomioka Eisen
Format: Aiban yoko-e: 9" x 11" approx

Subject: A bijin wearing a blue muffler and holding an umbrella in protection from a snow shower.

Date: c.1900

Condition: Full size. Two vertical folds. Minor stains, soils, marks and flaws. Generally fair state.

Colour: Fine

Impression: Fine with silver pigment

Description Illustration for the novel, "Yuki no Hi" (Snowy Day) in Bungei Kurabu vol.11, #3. Bungei Kurabu was a very popular literary magazine in Meiji-Showa era.
