This chuban series actually included 10 prints: the 8 Hasui scenes as well as two bijin-ga scenes by Yamakawa Shuho (chuban-sized versions of two of his oban-sized pre-war prints). Kamikouchi Taishoike (The Taisho Pond in the Japanese Alps) by Kawase Hasui. Genuine woodblock print. Fine color, condition and impression. Very light foxing in right margin. Later impression. Print measures 10.7 x 7.7 inches. Still tipped to presentation folder. Strong texture and ink bleedthrough on fine Japanese washi.

Kamikochi Tableland, ca. 1938


This Print, Kamikochi Tableland, ca. 1938- Tranquil rural scenery in winter. The trees dormant and covered in fresh snow. The rich blue of the water contrasting the white snow scenery. Lovely rural scene, great Hasui design.

Signed- Kawase Hasui with yellow or red artist’s seal as shown
Titled- In Japanese in margin as shown.
Image size- 10 3/4” x 7 3/4”
Condition- In excellent condition overall as shown with no holes, tears, damage, repairs or other issues to report. Beautiful rich color, not faded. Excellent detail. A lovely print for the discerning collector. No condition issues.
