Takemura

From Aaron

In addition, attached are quick photos of two interesting and different prints by Nishimura Hodo in
mitsugiri-ban format. I have not seen too many other kacho-e by Nishimura in this format. I
particularly like the onaga-dori.
This auction features a 1930's shin-hanga Japanese woodblock print by Nishimura Hodo, titled "Blue Bird Chrysanthemum and Aste." The frame measures 20.5" by 12" and the margins measure 16.75" by 14.75". Signed on the bottom right, along with publisher's seal (H. Takemura & Co.) Excellent condition, no fading or foxing, very vibrant, contrasting colors. Has been in the same frame for about 90 years.
