Japanese Woodblock Original print by Shimazaki RYU-U (1865-1937). Single KUCHIE (Frontispiece) print. Title " MATSUKAZE - Pine Wind - A beauty fixing strings on a KORO (Japanese musical instrument) ".

Published in Volume 19-7, BUNGEI KURABU (Club) magazine in TAISHO 2nd year (1913).

Paper size is 22.1 x 29.9 cm or about 8.75 x 11.75 inches.

No backed, shows some age and wear, original fold, vertical creases, otherwise Very Fresh and Very Fine Condition. No repair.

Matsu Kaze by Rhyuu Shimazaki. Original Japanese woodblock kuchi-e print circa Taisho 2 (1913). Very good to fine condition. Print measures 11.8 x 8.7 inches. Strong texture and ink bleedthrough on soft washi. Better trim than the same print shown on page 282 of the book "Survey of Woodblock Kuchi-e Prints" by Nanako Yamada.

Subject: A seated bijin patiently re-stringing her Koto (Japanese zither).

Date: 1900's

Condition: Full size. Mounted on a mica decorated card. Light horizontal fold marks. Minor marks and flaws. Generally very good state.

Colour: Fine

Impression: Fine with gauffrage.
