Title Uranai - Divination Artist Shuzo Ikeda born 1922 Signature Signed in black in the image; title, date and edition number in pencil on the lower margin Dated 1962 Impression excellent Colors excellent … mica sprinkled on the background Condition very good … light toning, margins slightly creased and soiled. Edition Size 50 Numbered 27 / 50 Description From the children's series made in 1962. The strong black outlines and dark colors were reminiscent to those of Georges Rouault. But Kaoru's pictures had none of the religeous connotations or sadness. These children seem to involve in their innocent activities in the warm, dark and fuzzy dream in the past. "Uranai" (Divination). Three kids are playing with sticks for divination. Width 21.7 inches = 55.0 cm Height 13.6 inches = 34.5 cm
